Tungsten carbide (TC) is widely used as seal faces or rings with resistant-wearing and heat, high fractural strength, high thermal conductivity, small heat expansion co-efficient; functioning well in oil, alkali, weak acid, organic solvents, etc. It is the best material to resist heat shock in all hard face materials.
Silicon carbide (SIC) has the property of excellent resistant-corrosion, high mechanical strength, high thermal conductivity, good self-lubrication, working well in acid, weak alkali, organic solvents, etc. Used as seal faces, bearings and tubes in spacecraft, machinery, metallurgy, printing and dyeing, foodstuff, pharmaceutical, auto industry and so on. When the sic faces are combined with graphite faces, the friction is the smallest and they can be made into mechanical seals which are able to work in highest working requirements.
Ceramic seal faces have the property of the resistant-high-temperature, resistant-corrosion, resistant-wearing and good sealing and are widely used in spacecraft, machinery, metallurgy, printing and dyeing, foodstuff, pharmaceutical, auto industry and so on.Ceramic is resistant to heat, corrosion, and wear; all mediums except hydrofluoric acid.

Carbon graphite has the good property of good resistant-corrosion, high thermal conductivity and lower friction, good self-lubrication, the smaller expansion;applied to water, oil, acid,alkali, etc. They can be made into the seal faces, bearings, and so on. It is ideal to choose it as the frictional mating rings.
